Why we joined oSTEM?: I felt always LGBTQ+ with STEM and Tech is always underrepresented. There are so many students who are LGBTQ+ but don’t have the time to join more lax organizations or even feel like they don’t fit in too well within LAS organizations. This org allows students to not only network and meet like-minded peers, but also gives them an opportunity to network with companies.

Why we joined oSTEM?: I joined oSTEM because we still have so much work to do when it comes to representation and acceptance of minority groups in STEM. We’ve come a long way, but having spaces like these helps to bring people together and for me, it’s a way to be myself without having to worry about the reactions of my peers!
